I woke up late today... Thanks to turning my alarm off and falling back to sleep.. thankfully I go into work late today. I turn on the computer and wait for it to boot up... I pull up my email and checked it.. a comment from Judi pops up and says "Let me be the first to say congratulations!" I rush over to her blog and low and behold.. The Artsy Essay Contest winners for January were announced. I was shocked to see my name among this months two winners. I never in a million years thought I would win.. But I feel very blessed to have been chosen by the illustrious panel of judges and to share the honor with Indigo, who entry was not only touching and deeply moving.. that her journal help someone improve the quality of their life. . Which is amazing.
Thank you Judi, for blessing us with this wonderful contest. The illustrious panel of judges for taking the hard task of choosing winners each month out of all those amazing entries and talented writers and to the wonderful readers/contest participants who have read my entries and left terrific comments. Thank you, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I just commented on Judith's journal, on how beautiful the essay you had written was. I'm truly humbled to share the limelight with you dear friend. I've read your entry quite a few times and let the words sink deep, the serene beauty of the feeling for such an object....I couldn't agree with you more. It truly was worthy of an Ode. Stay safe and loved dear one! (Hugs) Indigo
Dear Kristal, I think your writing gets stronger all the time, and am so happy that all your efforts have been rewarded. I will be in touch very soon about your piece of art that goes along with your win!

I really enjoyed your essay and the photos/drawings you posted with it. I could smell the grass and imagine what it would be like to be the girl as she was on her journey. Excellent.
